This EcoFlow Trail 300 DC Deal Makes Sense If You Do Not Need AC Power

The EcoFlow TRAIL 300 DC looks like a smart little camping battery if your gear is mostly USB-C and 12V, but it is not the right buy if you need AC outlets

Quick Take

  • This looks great if you want a compact battery for camping gear, coolers, lights, and modern USB-C stuff.
  • The catch is simple: no AC inverter, so no regular wall-style outlets.

The TRAIL 300 DC makes a lot of sense if your camping kit is mostly USB-C and 12V gear.

The EcoFlow TRAIL 300 DC looks like a very good little camping battery if your gear is mostly USB-C and 12V.

That is also the catch. There is no AC inverter here, which means no regular wall-style outlets. If you want to run normal AC gear, this is the wrong battery.

But if you mostly want to charge phones, tablets, cameras, routers, lights, air pumps, or a 12V cooler, this thing actually makes a lot of sense. You are getting 288Wh, 300W total DC output, 2 USB-C ports with up to 140W in and out, 2 USB-A ports, and a 12V car port in a much smaller package than a normal power station.

That is why I like it. It looks great for the right person, and very wrong for the wrong one. If your camp setup is already built around DC gear, this is a smart buy. If you need AC, skip it.
